For my final outcomes I have used various techniques such as typography, drawing and painting. For my typography idea I have taken a pair of lips that have been sewn together to highlight the extreme lengths that someone suffering from anorexia will go to avoid eating. I then filled the lips and face with words relating to anorexia. For the next piece o typography I have painted an image of a burger which I have then filled with words relating to obesity to show what society thinks of this eating disorder. For one of my mixed media pieces I have drawn a skeleton to show one of the extreme side effects of anorexia (death). I have then surrounded the skeleton with thick red acrylic paint to act as the thick crowd of people that the sufferer may feel is judging them and the red also acts as the harsh comments that may make the sufferer feel threatened. Finally I have then looked at the scale of size between anorexia and obesity as I have painted a large obese body to show obesity and I have then drawn a tiny skeletal body to show the vast difference in size between these two disorders. I have then used red acrylic paint and red ink to show societies harsh comments that can drive people to an eating disorder.
